How to Remove Holidays from Outlook

If you’re using Microsoft Outlook and find that the holiday reminders are cluttering your calendar, you might be wondering how to remove them. Whether you’re looking to declutter your schedule or simply want to avoid the constant notifications, this guide will walk you through the steps to remove holidays from Outlook.

Step 1: Open Outlook and Go to Calendar

First, open Microsoft Outlook on your computer. Once the application is open, navigate to the Calendar view. This is where you’ll find the holiday reminders and can remove them from your calendar.

Step 2: Select the Calendar with Holidays

In the Calendar view, you’ll see a list of calendars on the left-hand side. This list includes your personal calendar, as well as any shared calendars you may have access to. To remove holidays from a specific calendar, click on the calendar name to select it.

Step 3: Go to Calendar Settings

With the desired calendar selected, click on the “Calendar” tab at the top of the Outlook window. Then, click on “Calendar Settings” in the ribbon menu. This will open a new window with various options for customizing your calendar.

Step 4: Customize Calendar Settings

In the Calendar Settings window, you’ll find a section called “Customize Calendar.” Here, you can choose to show or hide various types of events, including holidays. To remove holidays from your calendar, uncheck the “Holidays” option.

Step 5: Save Changes

After unchecking the “Holidays” option, click “OK” to save your changes. Outlook will then update your calendar, and the holiday reminders should no longer appear.

Step 6: Remove Holiday Reminders from Individual Events

If you still have individual holiday events on your calendar, you can remove them by following these steps:

1. Click on the holiday event to select it.
2. Press the “Delete” key on your keyboard or right-click on the event and select “Delete.”
3. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully remove holidays from Outlook and keep your calendar clutter-free. If you ever decide to add holidays back to your calendar, simply repeat the process and check the “Holidays” option in the Calendar Settings.
