How to Remove Holidays from Mac Calendar

If you find that the holidays in your Mac Calendar are no longer relevant or are cluttering up your schedule, you can easily remove them. Whether you’ve changed your plans or simply want a cleaner calendar view, this guide will walk you through the steps to remove holidays from your Mac Calendar.

Step 1: Open the Calendar App

First, open the Calendar app on your Mac. You can do this by clicking on the Calendar icon in your dock or by searching for it in Spotlight.

Step 2: Select the Calendar View

Once the Calendar app is open, make sure you are in the desired calendar view. You can switch between day, week, month, and year views by clicking on the corresponding buttons at the top of the window.

Step 3: Go to the Calendar List

In the sidebar on the left side of the window, you will see a list of calendars. This is where you can manage your calendars, including adding, removing, and modifying events.

Step 4: Select the Calendar with the Holiday

Scroll through the list of calendars until you find the one that contains the holiday you want to remove. Click on the calendar to select it.

Step 5: Remove the Holiday

With the calendar selected, you will see a small “i” (information) icon next to the calendar name. Click on this icon to open the calendar’s settings.

In the calendar settings, look for the “Holidays” section. Click on the “Edit” button next to the “Holidays” section to open a list of holidays.

Step 6: Deselect the Holiday

In the list of holidays, find the holiday you want to remove and click on the checkbox next to it to deselect it. If you want to remove multiple holidays, you can select multiple checkboxes.

Step 7: Save Changes

After deselecting the holidays, click the “Done” button to save your changes. The selected holidays will be removed from your calendar.

Step 8: Confirm Removal

A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you are sure you want to remove the selected holidays. Click “Remove” to confirm the removal.

That’s it! The selected holidays should now be removed from your Mac Calendar. If you ever need to add them back, you can follow the same steps to add them to your calendar again.
